Medieval Coin Weight. A square double-sided coin-weight for checking the gold noble. Made in Antwerp, one side depicts a ship, and has the letter 'h' (for Henry) in the upper right field. The other side has the hand emblem of Antwerp, with AI (the initials of an unknown 16th century maker) either side in the field. 6.4g. 16th century. 16 mm x 15 mm. The weight of 6.4g is a little lower than the gold noble, but coin weights are usually lighter.
