A small hoard of North East Coast Staters found on Sunday 7th Sept 2008,
recorded by the museum and subsequently handed back to the finders.

three others with this reverse die in the CCI. From the same dies as
DRIFF 01. A very rare and interesting type linked to the trefoil
type by the style of the reverse die. |

This coin CCI 04.0994. Generally this type were weakly struck and on
odd shaped flan's. From the same dies as BM 3181. Comments by Dr.
Philip de Jersey: Five others from this pair of dies, not including
examples in Driffield hoard (Sills 1/5). Fifty-six of the basic VA 825
type recorded. |
