Viking Kite‑Headed Pin. 10th–11th Century A.D. Copper‑alloy “kite‑headed” pin with centrally pierced flat lozenge head, a small rounded knob at each angle, and a collared base. See PAS SWYOR‑77388A for a similar example. North Yorkshire. 95 mm long. As‑found condition. These pins are considered Irish in origin but are found in the UK due to Viking activity. Several flat‑headed pins were recovered in York and are published on p. 2578 of Finds from Anglo‑Scandinavian York by Mainman & Rogers. Extremely rare to find complete and in this condition.
