Medieval Stoneware Jug. A dark brown glazed stoneware drinking jug with thumbed base, single handle, and ribbed sides. 1450–1600 A.D. Manufactured in the vicinity of Siegburg, Rhineland, and widely distributed throughout northern Europe and England. Height 230 mm. Much of the surface is covered with light dirt, which could be easily removed to reveal a near‑perfect glazed finish beneath. Very good condition.
