Medieval Buckle. A copper-alloy single loop buckle with integral plate. Rectangular in shape with a central narrow section and smaller notched terminal. Much of the body is decorated with transverse grooves. Circa 1250–1400. Ross Whitehead, Buckles 1250–1800, pp. 32–35. Found near Horncastle. Recorded 01 Oct 2011, UKDFD #33710. 38 mm × 23 mm. Attractive dark green patina, complete apart from the pin.
