Edward III. 1327–1377. Penny. Fourth coinage, pre‑treaty period, London mint, Series G (1356–1361). Obverse: EDWARDVS REX ANGLI, crowned bust facing. Reverse: CIVITAS LONDON, long cross pattée with three pellets in each angle. Spink 1588; North 1206 var. 18 mm. This coin appears to be sub‑type Gb, initial mark cross 3, but without annulet below the king’s bust or on the reverse, and with no annulet stops in the obverse legend.
