Doge Leonardo Loredan. 1501–1521. Silver Venetian soldino. Obverse LE LAV DVX S M V, Doge kneeling before Saint Mark. Reverse LAVS TIBI SOLI, haloed figure of Christ holding a cross. 0.3 g, 12 mm. These coins circulated (illegally) in England from the late 14th to the 16th century and were known as “Galley Halfpence”.
