English 'standing king under canopy'. Copper Alloy Jeton Crowned king, holding a sceptre, standing under a canopy. GRA (right), REX (left). Crown within quatrefoil; border of trefoils and stalked rosettes. Circa 1350 - 1400. George Berry, Medieval English Jetons, p. 40 & Plate 6, Nos. 5/9. 21 mm. The obverse has a central indentation, which is a characteristic of English jetons of this period. It is believed to have been done to prevent them from being silvered and passed off as coins.
