Vespasian — Coins for Sale

Vespasian

69–79 AD

Vespasian founded the Flavian dynasty after emerging victorious from the turmoil of the Year of the Four Emperors in AD 69. A seasoned military commander, he restored stability to the empire and initiated major building projects, including the Flavian Amphitheatre (Colosseum). His coinage emphasises military success, prosperity, and the legitimacy of the new regime. Vespasian’s reign marked a return to order after civil war, and his coins remain highly collectable for their strong portraits and historical importance.
