796-806 AD (First reign)

Below you will find my pictorial reference for the coinage of EARDWULF. As of May 2020 there are ten coins known (three obverse and seven reverse dies). All are in museums or private collections. If anyone has any new information, coins, or wishes to add to this page please feel free to email me. I hope you find this information useful.

EARDWULF COPIES and FAKES

Due to the rarity of Eardwulf's coins its not surprising to see modern fakes appear on the market. Below are the ones to look out for !
Check the weight and size (they usually get this right). Quality of metal, Eardwulf's coins are from the mid Kings of Northumbria series and are of a base silver type, similar to Eanred's early issues. Style of lettering, and check for die links.
