Medieval Harness Pendant. A large bronze lozenge
shaped harness pendant, the design depicts a crowned letter 'U' flanked
by uncertain, but what could be a kneeling figure in prayer and another
reading the Bible. All on a double base line. The whole design is set in
a field of white enamel, most of which survives. Complete with
suspension loop. 13th-14th Century. Lincolnshire. Height 36.8mm, Width
28.5mm. |

Medieval Heraldic Stud. A Copper alloy shield
shaped heraldic stud, the coat of arms consists of an engrailed cross on
a field of red enamel with smaller crosses / fleurs-de-lis in each
angle. 13th-14th Century. Lincolnshire. 17.5mm x 14.4 mm.
The arms are possibly those of a member of the Ashhurst (or Ashurst)
family, whose arms are blazoned: Gules, a cross engrailed between four
fleurs-de-lis argent. |

Medieval Heraldic Mount. A cross shaped bronze
heraldic mount. The centre section is divided into quarters, with an
eight petalled flower in each angle on a blue enamelled background. The
four protruding arms are decorated with animal head terminals. The whole
piece is gilded, much of which still remains. 13th-14th Century. North

Medieval Horse Pendant. A good sized copper alloy
quatrefoil shaped horse pendant, consisting of a central lion inside a
square, each lobe of the quatrefoil is set with a fleur-de-lis on a red
enamelled background, traces of which still survive. 14th century. North
Lincolnshire. 48 mm x 32 mm. An unusual piece as the central lion is
facing to the right, all others I have traced are left facing. |

harness pendant, the inner separate pendant is sexfoil shape, the outer
sexfoil shaped cage having cusps between the arcs. 13th - 14th century.
47mm x 32mm. Complete, and in working order, retains much of the
silvered surface, though this is now a dark grey. |

Medieval. Silver Decorative Mount. A solid silver
decorative mount in the shape of a crowned E B monogram. Complete with
the two fixing pins to the rear. Circa 15th century. East Yorkshire.
23.7 mm x 15 mm. The finder of this item suggested that the E B may
represent Elizabeth Bosville. This is due to an item associated to the
Bosville family that was found close by. While a plausible and
interesting idea, it cannot be proven at this time. |
