The Nicomedia mint was one of the most important eastern workshops of the Constantinian period. Its output is characterised by sharp engraving, consistent style, and clear SMN mintmarks. Nicomedia produced large quantities of GLORIA EXERCITVS bronzes and played a major role in supplying coinage to the eastern provinces. Its issues remain essential for collectors assembling a complete Constantinian series.
